A native New Yorker, Jenny Kelly was born in Staten Island and raised in Rockland County on a strict diet of Nana’s meatballs, old Hollywood musicals, and Roman Catholic guilt. Jenny spent every other weekend traveling between her two homes and from the back seat of her father’s work van, she and her sister gained a solid education in Classic Rock and hippy values.

In her early years, Jenny nurtured a love of music and performance by studying piano and flute, and taking part in various high school and community theatre productions. In 1990, Jenny made Staten Island her permanent home, and New York City her infinite playground.

After taking nearly 15 years off to tackle life and raise a family, Jenny decided it was time for a return to college and to theatre.  At thirty-something, she enrolled in Wagner College’s nationally recognized theatre program, and graduated in 2013 with a B.A. in Theatre Performance & Speech, and a minor in Religious Studies.

Jenny is excited about the next chapter of life, as an actress and a producer. She looks forward to combining her unique life experience with the training she received at Wagner. In 2015, she opened a small, community theatre company, Hemlock Theatre Co., along with a notorious band of misfits known as the Hemlock Hotties (For more information, visit HemlockTheatreCo.com). In addition to her love of performance, Jenny enjoys road trips, cooking, spiritual philosophy, 80s music, biking, forest exploration, Anne Rice novels and general mischief making.

Acting is not about being someone different. It's finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there. – Meryl Streep
